Located 1 1/2 hours west of Edmonton and 20 minutes East of Edson, Rocky Acres Miniature Horse Farm is located a few minutes off of Highway 16.
Our farm formed in 2001 when our daughters wanted a horse to call their own. Our daughters just started school so we looked at the miniature horse breed and we knew that they would be safer to handle.
We specialize in breeding quality registered miniature horses. Our horses are AMHA and AMHR registered and they have wonderful bloodlines. Their pedigrees include Scott Creek, Little Kings, Del Teras, Glencara, and Riftswoods.
Our horses are handled by all ages and their quiet dispositions let us handle the foals shortly after birth. We have large groups of preschool children come out on fieldtrips to see the little horses. Some of the children enjoyed handfeeding and petting the horses including our herd sire who loves all the attention.
Once in while we will take a couple horses to some local fairs and shows when we get a chance to if we are not working with some new foals or breeding. All of our mares have been entered in many shows and we come home with one or two first place ribbons from each of them. Each mare came in 1st place for their color classes and at some local shows two mares are Reserve Champion and Grand Champion Halter.
Along with our Miniature Horses, We raise cattle. For over 25 years, we have been breeding polled hereford cattle with registered bulls and cows have registered sires. Proven 4-h prospects for the last two years.
